just a doodle

I've been wanting to post this, it's sort of an experiment i did a few weeks ago while I was sick and stuck at home.

i was just messing around with post its and a sharpie and my camera in between fits of coughing up phlegm. mmm, delicious! I'd like to make some more attempts of traveling into the fourth dimension as we travel along in to 2010. we'll see...

Welcome to the Word Market!

I was psyched when I found a copy of The Phantom Tollbooth in a box of give-away books on the sidewalk yesterday! I started re-reading it immediately. I always loved the parts about the doldrums and jumping to conclusions, but I particularly love the Word Market. I just love the idea of being able to buy and sell words, so surreal. Below is a kinda quick depiction of what I imagine it be like for Milo and Tock to enter the market.

the importance of a good doodle..

I've always been a big advocate for doodling, it's good for you, just like chocolate and wine. Today I decided to liberate some of the doodles I've done at work and before I left I collected all the pieces of should-of-been-thrown-out-but-weren't-papers that had doodles on them (they were just cluttering my desk anyhow) and I saved them! There was much rejoicing in the doodle kingdom. It's fun to look at the weird stuff that I let unconsciously spill from my hand during the day...

it's not easy being a green octopus

i don't know if it was the recent news of octuplets or the fact that i stared at sea creatures all day at work, (you know your life is weird if your biggest issue all day is trying to decide whether a squid should wear a pink tutu or a giant polka dot bow...)

but today seemed like an octopus kind of day.

so. of course, my scanner isn't playing nice with my new computer, but stubborn machinery cannot stop me.

and this last one is a picture of my new friend, bobby. that's not his mouth, that's a bowtie.

he doesn't have a mouth, but he's telepathic and also fluent in both pig-latin and bunny-latin.

my computer takes really blown-out pictures.....

walking around my new neighborhood today i found a little art store, very small selection, but still exciting. So i got some new water colors and some paper and went home to play. yay!
