the importance of a good doodle..

I've always been a big advocate for doodling, it's good for you, just like chocolate and wine. Today I decided to liberate some of the doodles I've done at work and before I left I collected all the pieces of should-of-been-thrown-out-but-weren't-papers that had doodles on them (they were just cluttering my desk anyhow) and I saved them! There was much rejoicing in the doodle kingdom. It's fun to look at the weird stuff that I let unconsciously spill from my hand during the day...

father's day

in honor of father's day i did a superman/clark kent drawing, my step-dad is a big fan. I was thinking, wouldn't it be funny if clark kent had no idea he was actually superman? and he just went around and was jealous of him all the time. poor guy.

weird vocabulary

i was remembering that i had this professor in school who once told me that i had "..a weird vocabulary when it comes to drawing animals." i'm not entirely sure if it was a compliment or not....but i want to say, yes it was.

illustration friday: parade

this weeks illustration friday, "parade" made me think of this funny little song by Jonathan Coulton called "Mr. Fancy Pants." This song always puts a smile on my face, because I love the idea of someone "marching in the fancy pants parade."
